Real Drone Technology, Real Experience, Sharper Results
Sharper Shape’s Automatic Detailed Inspection (ADI) service greatly reduces the amount of effort required for close-up utility examinations, while capturing incredibly detailed, consistent, and repeatable inspection data. Our proprietary flight planning algorithms use LiDAR geospatial data to create precise 3D flight paths. Autonomous inspection operations are then executed under autopilot control, with the drone exactly following these calculated routes. ADI offers the ability to autonomously capture many types of data, including high-res photos, 4K video, Infrared images and Ultraviolet “corona” pictures. After the flights are completed, secure and reliable data analysis is automated and augmented by our best-in-class software tools.
Plan & Capture
Process & Visualisation
Automatic Detailed Inspection is optimized for the DJI Inspire 2 and the DJI Matrice M200/210 aircraft. Camera options include the Zenmuse X5S Micro Four Thirds interchangeable lens camera or the Zenmuse XT thermal camera. The new Matrice M210 can even carry both the X5S and the thermal XT sensor simultaneously, making it possible to capture and analyze thermal hot spots and visual images side by side.
Sharper Shape’s entire CORE Platform
(Cloud-Optimized Remote Evaluations) Sharper Shape’s entire CORE Platform – Consisting of the Sharper Viewer, Inspector, and Pilot applications – all play primary roles in ADI operations.
The Sharper Pilot supports drone field crews by delivering automated flight planning, autonomous drone flight control, and post-flight data management functions.
The Sharper Inspector provides an optimized environment for human experts to examine inspection data, as well as providing an environment for running software plug-ins to extend the system’s functionality.
Sharper Shape’s Automatic Defect Analysis module applies computer vision and AI technology to automatically identify corrosion issues and broken insulators, with more defect types being added rapidly to its automated detection capability.
Access from anywhere
The cloud-based Sharper Viewer provides a platform for the customer to easily access and review their system’s inspection data – from virtually anywhere in the world where a secure internet is available.
ADI captures incredibly detailed images of even the smallest utility hardware components. What happens next with this raw data is optional. Deliverables can range anywhere from simply providing the unprocessed ADI data, to a supplying a detailed report created by an expert inspector, with all condition issues called out and documented, and application of computer vision and AI technology to automatically identify defects.
